one day i’ll blog about the latest trends and outlandish fashion and the questionably expensive materialistic life again, i’m sure of it. but for now, its just not on my spectrum of thoughts. while half my time is spent at work, the remaining percentage of my day is spent hitting the asphalt on the good ol’ streets of santa monica. and since i put so much thought into my professional appearance (or lack thereof), why not share that same sentiment to my running attire, right?!

i was thinking about it the other day and i REVOLVE my long-distance runs around my life. if i plan on putting in some serious mileage after work, i’ll carb up the night before. i’ll have a bagel in the morning. i’ll stop drinking water at 4pm if my run starts at 5pm. i’ll charge my phone to the fullest extent and unplug right before to ensure i’ll have enough battery power for #runkeeper. and since i run everyday, i’m constantly thinking about how i can be better than yesterday.

i walked into lorna jane recently and when i told the saleslady i was a marathon runner, she asked if i ran competitively. i said yes, i run against MYSELF. and she looked at me like i was crazy, but it didn’t occur to me how true that was until i blurted it out loud. i will do whatever it takes to PUSH myself to the absolute maximum limit until i reach a better finish time. call it insanity, but its true - i am only as good as my last PR.

i can’t believe ian has been gone for over a month now....

i can’t believe ian has been gone for over a month now. when he first told me he’d be studying abroad for 3 months, i pictured myself moping around the house, sitting by my window, counting the falling leaves, one by freaking one, slowly…going…insane..! but to my pleasant surprise, its not like that at all :) life is still so good around here! and it doesn’t hurt that ian and i talk just about every single day :)

i didn’t think i could love love love ian more than i already do but its true - absence makes the heart grow fonder <3 but in 6 weeks i think i will have reached my limit - just in time for him to come home :)

i know what you’re thinking - NOT the typical pink-underlining photos that would usually be found on my blog. but hey tomorrow (err, 5 hours) is a big day as my dad is becoming a deacon in the catholic church! this is so nuts, i can’t believe him and my mom actually made it. i mean, they’re smart people and all, i just didn’t know old people had it in them to acquire such serious learning so late in the game. in other words, PROPS, BA & ME. you did the damn thaang! :)

there are a thousand things that keep this gal up at night but if i had to point all fingers to ONE adversant, instagram takes full blame! i’ve become this terrible addict who lies awake under the sheets, lights out, just cropping, resizing, filtering to perfection…until i finally realize i’ll only get 4 hours of sleep if i don’t put the phone down that very instant.
